“Age” is not a disease

At Adeline Animal Hospital, we care deeply for our senior patients. There are many challenges that come with an ageing pet, and we are here to support the healthy ageing process. Conditions that can arise as your pet ages include:

• Dental disease: often manifesting as odorous breath, difficulty eating, or pawing at mouth

• Arthritis and Mobility issues: Difficulty rising after rest, limping, hard time climbing stairs, reluctance to eat, being quieter than usual

• Liver and Kidney disease: Changes to appetite or thirst, increase/decrease in urination, changes to body condition

• Thyroid disease: Changes to activity level or appetite, weight gain or loss

We recommend twice yearly appointments for senior pets, so that these issues can be addressed early!
